We Crossed Eight Thousand! Quick Video Update!

We crossed $8,000!

That is still so wild to me, and I had to record a quick video with my thoughts so far, as well as some other meta updates that I haven't yet typed out. I also talk for a bit about the plan going forward over the next few weeks!

I will continue with build videos and Kickstarter updates via this YouTube channel, so maybe subscribe so you don't miss out on this or anything else I'm cooking up!

That's kind of it, short text update to make sure you're all aware of this video that would only take a bit of your time. As always keep an eye on Twitter or Instagram for more frequent updates and looks into the process as I keep getting set up!

The machine is almost finished, and then it's time to get carving!

Seven Thousand! All Stretch Goals Unlocked! Call The Second Wave!

Wow, here we are! All Stretch Goals have been unlocked and personal engraving is now FREE for all backers! You will be able to set your message during the surveys and pledge manager at the end of the campaign.

What's Next?

Well, first let's talk about where we're at now. I am spending this weekend assembling and installing the shop upgrades needed to do these vaults at scale, and I am putting together a prospective wood order so I can have some initial vaults ready sooner to make sure to keep up with demand.

Next- we keep going! Today only marks he halfway point of the campaign, which means we still have 15 days to go and some awesome new goals to chase. I don't want to over-commit with things and put delivering vaults at risk, so I don't think there will be any additions to this Kickstarter in the form of new unlocks or woods, but here is something I can promise: each and every dollar we unlock from this point forward goes to better quality for the things we already have unlocked. 

This is my first Kickstarter, so it would be kind of crazy to promise some of the things you see on other campaigns from bigger names, and I don't want to pretend that I'm anything more than just one guy doing this with some support from a few friends part time... we start here and do it right, and then next time, we can go crazy.

... that being said, if we hit $10k you KNOW I will have to do something special- I just haven't figured out what that is quite yet.

The Second Wave

So, on the topic of being 100% transparent with everyone backing the Kickstarter, after this Sunday all Kickstarter tiers for the standard vaults will close and duplicate versions of them will open for the Second Wave. These Second Wave tiers will have a September 2020 delivery window, in order to make sure everything is delivered in the window you were promised when you backed the campaign. Master Vault tiers will not change from their August 2020 delivery window.

I am so damn humbled by this campaign, the support from the community, and the trust you have all put in me for this project. I said at the beginning these vaults were now ours, and that is more true now than ever before.

300% Funded! Final Woods Unlocked!

We made it!

I was super excited about this one, and we made it! We are at EXACTLY 300% funded and the final set of new woods, Tigerwood and Ebony, are unlocked! The vibrant color stribing and dark, mysterious black woods are the final addition to the wood lineup for this Kickstarter!

What a week this has been, and we're still not even half done with the campaign! The final currently planned Stretch Goal is at $7,000 and then personalized engraving for all Kickstarter backers is FREE! This is another big goal at 350% funded, but I have faith in our campaign to make something really special!

What's next?

Well, I am already at work assembling the updates to my workshop & putting the necessary improvements in place to create these vaults at scale. I should have the first few product tests, as well as a video on my DIY YouTube Channel, within the next couple weeks- definitely before the campaign ends.

Right now I don't have any more stretch goals planned after $7k, mainly because I want to keep the scope of this campaign small & manageable. The primary goal is to get these vaults into your hands as soon as possible- anything else added to it would just delay that. I am even considering closing the tiers for the currently delivery structure soon, and opening identical ones with a later delivery date, so that everyone is 100% informed about what they will be getting, and when. That will likely happen this coming weekend.

If we smash through all our goals, I have a very vague idea of something I can do at $10,000 because that is so monumental, but that will remain a secret for now until the time comes. It could be fun, but I want to keep some secrets for myself, for just a little while longer...

Five Thousand Strong! 50% Off Personal Engraving Unlocked!

Great news everyone!

We just passed 250% funded at $5,000! To celebrate personalized engraving will now be 50% off for all Kickstarter backers! You will be able to make your vault your very own even easier!

Things have leveled out after a crazy first week, but we still have three weeks to this campaign, and we're not stopping here! I have already started getting some deliveries to the workshop so I can get ahead on the production process and have your vaults ready as soon as possible.

Along the way, I will document the entire process with a series of videos on Michael Makes, my YouTube channel where I do dice making, CNC shenanigans, and other DIY projects!

Onwards to new stretch goals! Next up is the final wood offering, but also the most fantastic: Tigerwood and Ebony! This is a big one too- this unlocks at $6,000!

Hello Again!

Just a quick bit of an update on things as we continue to progress far faster than I originally expected!

I will keep posting Kickstarter videos as well as some different build videos for the Dual Vaults and other D&D / DIY projects on Michael Makes, so why not subscribe to the channel so you know when new videos go live?

Very soon, you will will be able to see the fruits of this Kickstarter live as I will be documenting the improvements to my process that make these vaults a reality at scale.

New Woods Unlocked

Two new wood species have been unlocked! Bloodwood and Bocote are now both available as Tier 2 woods! These are both super crazy patterns to work with, and I am so excited to be able to be offering them! 

Below is an updated list of all of the different wood species we will be offering from this Kickstarter!

The next unlock is the big one, with Tigerwood and Ebony being unlocked at $6,000, or 300% funded! We keep gaining ground, and there's a couple goals between here and there, but this is just crazy to think that it might be a possibility!

Onwards to a big discount on personalized engraving for everyone who backs the project! I know we can do this!
